Spotter fitness coaching

Living and working in New York City can be expensive, stressful, and generally unhealthy unless you can afford an assistant, boutique shopping, grocery delivery and a membership at the most exclusive gyms. An NYC health and fitness social network and support community, thespotter.net , has proven to three local women that wellness, nutrition and professional wardrobe in the city don’t have to cost a fortune.

“If you have the will, we can provide the tools to achieve and maintain your goal for a lifetime,” explains Chris Kelly, creator of thespotter.net and personal trainer to the participants. “We envisioned a ‘makeover’ that involves pairing individual women with experts in the areas of fitness, nutrition, style and career.”

The women were chosen by spotter.net through Bottomless Closet, a non-profit organization whose goal is to is to promote economic self–sufficiency by providing interview skills, business clothing, and ongoing career development and support programs to economically disadvantaged New York City women,

Along with The Spotter’s team of lifestyle experts, which cover the areas of mental, physical and social well being, there’s also Jenny Craig Corporation which will supply the food, fitness clothing and Kirstie Alley’s personal nutrition expert.

By enhancing their self-image, self-confidence and self-sufficiency, these organizations are enable the participants to enter and succeed in the workforce and transform the vision for their lives. The three women, Sonja, Marilyn and Cindy started the program in June 2007 and already see a difference.

“This was the most energized I’ve felt in 10 years,” announced Sonja after her first group fitness workout. The women are now in their third week of the three month makeover. What would costs others thousands of dollars to achieve—a 90-day plan will put them in enviable shape and have them looking and feeling terrific.  Online visitors to spotter.com can track their progress with trainers blogs, photos and participant testimonials, or sign up to participate in the next 90 day makeover.

The Process

This process began with a consultation to set long- and short-term goals as well as a current lifestyle and fitness evaluation. Participants are coached in their exercise routine, food choices, wardrobe selection and personal presentation for 90 days. Changes and improvements are monitored through physical statistics, regular interviews and periodic photo shoots to document what occurs.

By the end of the 90-day period, not only will participants achieve their goals, but they will also possess the knowledge and motivation to progress for a lifetime.
