A message from our founder
In the world of fitness, Spotter denotes a partner who stands ready to lend a helping hand. I first encountered this term as a thirteen year old trainee gazing up at my Dad's 35-year-old barbell.
Lying on his rickety bench, my first introduction to weight training came with no small anxiety as I imagined the weight pinning me to the floor. But behind me, stood my Dad, whose reassuring tone and presence convinced me that I could manage this Herculean feat.
As he steadied the bar and I pushed with all my might, I somehow managed to lift the bar from my chest.
Looking back at him with pride, he and I shared a silent understanding of the true meaning of "spotter". Since that time, I have been inspired to impart this feeling to all that will listen by building my body, writing about health, and developing training programs.
While quick fix diets and fitness fads continue to be touted as the next miracle of weightloss, it is my goal to help you discover that all the certainty, strength and know how you will ever need exists within you.
